Choral Program

St. Patrick Choir for Kindergarten, First and Second Grade Boys & Girls

No interview is asked for this choir. This training choir for boys and girls begins at an early age to teach the responsibilities and experience the joys of leading worship at Grace Church. As they learn to read in school, these young singers learn the basics of reading texts and music in The Hymnal. In addition, they practice the beginnings of choral discipline: structured rehearsals, following the director, walking in procession and the organization of the liturgy. The St. Patrick Choir rehearses regularly and sings on occasion for services.

St. Nicholas & St Cecilia Choirs for Third, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Grade Boys & Girls

An interview should be arranged for new singers. The St. Nicholas and St. Cecilia Choirs continue the musical training for children in the Anglican tradition. Each child will find unique challenges among the vast range of skills taught through the RSCM curriculum, as well as in their service to the parish. The choirs are open to all boys and girls, and they are encouraged to invite friends who have no choir to join. The trebles frequently join in singing services with the other choirs as well as on their own, and have regularly scheduled social activities to help round out their program.

St. Gregory Choir for Seventh Grade to Twelfth Grade Girls

An interview should be arranged for new singers. This choir is a popular activity and ministry in our parish, with a maximum amount of reward and enjoyment The choristers are continually challenged through the use of the RSCM training program and the Catechism, while expanding their demanding repertoire. This choir, on average, sings thirty-five services per year, and has regularly scheduled social activities throughout the year.

Choir of Men and Women & Teen Boys

An interview should be arranged for new singers. The Choir of Men and Women & Teen Boys is the mainstay of our choral ministry at Grace Church. In the Anglican tradition this choir specializes in both traditional and contemporary repertoire. In addition to their duties at the Choral Eucharist, the choir sings at Evensong, and from time to time special concerts and services with other choral groups. This choir is regularly joined by the other choirs for services throughout the year. New singers are heartily welcomed and need not be accomplished singers; in fact, trained "solo" voices are often not conducive to a good ensemble.
